To get away from the crowds in the 555 square-mile National Park there is a huge network of around 1,400 miles of public rights of way, plus easy leisure routes such as the local Monsal Trail which has been developed from derelict railway lines & over 80 square-miles of open access on the northern moors, make the Peak District perhaps the most accessible National Park for the walker.

Eroica, a 3 day festival around Bakewell passing through Tideswell, Monsal Trail & Chatsworth, is a cycling event around The Peak District where 4000 participants dress up in costumes on pre 1987 bikes.
