The Peak District is a stunning national park located in central England. It is known for its breathtaking landscapes, including rolling hills, dramatic valleys, and picturesque villages. Visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, such as hiking,, and rock climbing, as well as explore historic sites and charming towns. With its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, the Peak District is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to England.

Tideswell is unusual for a small village of approximately 1800 people only to have so many facilities general grocery/fruit & veg /butchers/bakery/yarn & card shop/2nd hand bookshop/2 Fish & Chip shops, 4 cafes & 3 pubs & a superb restaurant The Merchants Yard. The village is not situated on a through route so the roads especially in the evening are remarkably traffic free. Tideswell known locally as "Tidza" is one of the most ancient settlements in the central Peak District & was granted a Royal Charter for market in 1251.

Take a walk around the village & you will notice cottages dating back to the 14th century. www.visittideswell.co.uk

As well as the impressive St John The Baptist Church otherwise known as "The Cathedral of the Peak" with unusual medieval wooden & stone carvings of hybrid mythical creatures.

You can start many beautiful walks from our doorstep without going anywhere in the car. Alternatively you are very close to one of the most beautiful places in the Peak District - the Monsal Trail;  a traffic-free wheelchair-friendly, 8.5 mile stretch of disused railway line.

The bus stop is close too with routes direct to Buxton or Sheffield & many other local villages.
